After being awarded the concrete works package via MTM Construction in January 2019, we mobilised on site in February. Our role in this project was to place and finish all concrete. This Unit had to be fit for purpose to test and inspect expensive, Hi Tec offshore equipment. The 0% tolerance on concrete level on internal areas as well as the brush finish on external areas kept a bit of a variation through out.

We had a team of guys on day shift in charge of placement and a night shift team in charge of finishing. This was considered one of Scotland’s largest concrete jobs at the time with the internal areas totalling 4855m2 and external areas totalling 3684m2. Another unique part of this job was pouring a 170m3 ring beam to support a 10m deep high pressure testing pit with a high polish finish.
